SEL S2: Week Two Roundup

CSGO

TPO continued their dominant form in SEL with another strong performance against 4Dimensions. The favourites displayed confidence and coordination en route to a 16-7 victory. 4Dimensions looked competitive, however, and will one to watch as they strive to recover from this setback.

Highlands Fatties got off to a roaring start against Lunarc and quickly pulled away to a six round lead on Mirage. Lunarc fought back well to close the deficit and looked like they might be able to pull off the comeback. Ultimately, their slow start proved too much to overcome; the Fatties claimed a 16-11 win and will go on to face TPO for the first playoff place.

Click2Kill rebounded from a disappointing week one to pick up a convincing victory over SunRise. A superstar performance from this week’s MVP GlyNzo saw him pick up 44 kills as he carried his team to a 16-7 win. SunRise is now 0-2 so will compete in the first elimination match next week.

Omni will join them in the elimination games as, despite solid performances from SneakyMongoose and Rezza, they were unable to overcome Undying. Their opponents secured a narrow 16-12 victory to give them their first win of the season.

Rainbow Six

This week saw the first round of our Rainbow Six tournament which kicked off with a match between Anathema and GOAT. Anathema started on defence and proved impenetrable for GOAT who had to wait until the sixth round to pick up their first point. Anathema gave up one more round on their way to a 7-2 victory.

TPO went one better by beating the Moray Firth Banters 7-1. TPO controlled the tempo from early on, thanks in part to some aggressive fragging from Waxyjester. He secured 12 kills, the highest of anyone in round one, which his team successfully capitalised on to claim the win.

Rocket League

Week two of Rocket League saw a face-off between Matrix and TPO. Matrix took an early lead at the start of game one, but TPO came back fast and hard to win 5-2. After that, Matrix struggled to get back into the game as TPO kept the mental edge over their opponents and won the best of seven series 4-0.

Smash Ultimate

Three tournaments are done and dusted, here are the winners and top eight qualifiers so far:

Auty is the latest player to qualify after a closely contested final against Ander. Ander fell to the lower bracket early and battled incredibly bravely to reach the grand final to face a dominant Auty.

Auty took an early two round lead in the best of five final and seemed to have his rival on the ropes. However, Ander rallied to complete the reverse sweep and won 3-2 to reset the bracket. Auty recovered strongly in the re-match and swept Ander 3-0 to win the tournament and a place in our top eight.

Week Three gets underway this evening with Rainbow Six. On Wednesday, we’ll see our first team CS:GO team qualify for play-offs and the first team eliminated. On Thursday, we return to Rocket League with an open qualifier which you can sign up for here. Don’t miss the action, tune in on Mixer at 7PM to catch the streams.
